About Restore Britain
The story of a movement that began with a simple idea: Britain belongs to the British people.
Our Story
Restore Britain was founded on 30 June 2025 by Rupert Lowe, the Member of Parliament for Great Yarmouth and former chairman of Southampton FC. After leaving Reform UK, Rupert established Restore Britain initially as a pressure group — a vehicle to hold the establishment to account.
Alongside co-founder Charlie Downes, the movement grew rapidly. Within months, over 123,000 people signed up as members — drawn by the promise of real direct democracy where every member votes on every policy.
On 13 February 2026, Restore Britain was officially registered as a political party, marking the transition from pressure group to a genuine force in British politics.
